On Sunday night, a tragic accident occurred in the Fairpark neighborhood of Salt Lake City, UT, when a man on an electric scooter was struck by a car and subsequently died.
The victim, 41-year-old Ismael Ontivaros, was involved in the collision near 800 W. North Temple shortly before 9 p.m. Following the incident, the 22-year-old driver of the car stayed at the scene, as confirmed by the police.
The exact cause of the electric scooter accident is still under investigation. After the accident, Ontivaros was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
As of Monday, authorities had not made any arrests or issued any citations in connection with the incident.
