Man Dead After Fatal Car Crash While Changing Tire on I-15 in American Fork, Utah

In a tragic incident early Thursday morning on I-15 near American Fork, a man in his early 30s lost his life when a car crash occurred while attempting to change a tire on the highway's right shoulder, near Pioneer Crossing. The Utah Highway Patrol reported that the man, who was adhering to safety protocols by wearing a vest and activating his vehicle's hazard lights, was fatally struck by a passing motorist despite taking these precautions.

The accident occurred shortly after 6 a.m., when the man and a female companion, who were traveling together, were forced to pull over due to a flat tire. The vehicle was parked safely on the shoulder, and the man had taken every recommended safety measure prior to the incident that caused his death.

The motorist involved in the collision stopped immediately and is currently cooperating with ongoing investigations. Following the incident, the woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed as investigations continue. This heartbreaking incident serves as a somber reminder of the risks associated with vehicle breakdowns on busy highways and the critical importance of road safety measures.
